Meet Harry Weeks, our Business Development Manager. He’s been instrumental in building trusted relationships and looking after our customers across the UK. We had a conversation with him to learn what drives him, how he approaches his job role and what he thinks about the future of the electrical and energy industry:
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a qualified electrician who transitioned into sales engineering and account management, building and maintaining strong relationships by leveraging my technical expertise.
What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?
I’m a keen sportsman that thrives in a team game. As I’ve got older, I have moved over to HYROX which scratches that itch. HYROX is an indoor fitness competition that combines functional strength exercises with endurance running.
What’s one thing you’ve learned since joining CHINT?
CHINT offers an extensive range of products, with over 3,000 product lines available in the UK and a presence in more than 140 countries worldwide. Additionally, our in-house build team demonstrates exceptional adaptability, ensuring we meet diverse client needs with precision and efficiency.
What’s your role at CHINT Shield and what does a typical day look like for you?
As National Business Development Manager for CHINT Shield, my role focuses on maintaining key contracts, whilst driving future growth and identifying emerging markets. I also collaborate with contractors on various projects, delivering tailored, bespoke solutions to meet their specific needs.
What surprised you the most about working at CHINT Shield?
How dominant we are in the global market.
What excites you the most about the future of electrical innovation and sustainable energy?
The growth this can bring to the industry, along with its lasting impact on our planet for future generations.
What’s one trend in the industry that you are watching closely ?
One trend I’m closely watching is the rise of smart energy solutions, which we provide at CHINT Shield. These technologies optimise energy use, integrate renewables, and enable real-time monitoring through IoT and AI. Smart energy is transforming how businesses and households manage power; cutting costs, boosting efficiency and supporting sustainability. As the industry moves towards decarbonisation and digitalisation, smart energy systems will be pivotal in shaping the future of energy management.
What’s one fact about you that most people won’t know about you?
I love watching Musicals!
